In the wake of twin mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, Congress is faced again with mounting pressure to pass gun control legislation. It’s the same pressure lawmakers faced following the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting in 2013. Is there any reason to think this time will be any different?

The Second Amendment IS the voice of the people, with no Second Amendment there is no First. Without even considering the empirical data, and self defense arguments which have merit of their own, it allows the people the option of non-compliance to Government which without, is forfeit. I'm going to take a shot in the dark and imagine that Hong Kong's protests don't favor the protestors having to fight back against THEIR tyrannical government with archery equipment. I just realized how long does this breaking story was posted, which prompts me to ask a question now I realize it's a year old. How's Joe Biden doing on that mission so far LOL
Yeah you do realize that Harry Reid's supermajority Senate also voted down Feinstein's assault weapons Ben back then as well and manchin and the Arizona senator both voted against that assault weapons ban because it did not have specific protections for private gun owners and them being able to transfer or sell guns to family members or friends. And they still feel the same way today. Even with a Democrat controlled White House, House, and Senate they still can't get rid of our Second Amendment rights as bad as they want to. Which is why Biden is trying to I'm at 5 billion dollar second ATF organization in his infrastructure bill
No maybe if we focused more on Mental Health Care of the people that really need it, and actually get them some help. It would also take a big step on Democrats part, which would be impossible for them. But if it could ever happen oh, and they could actually focus on the people instead of the tool that's used, you know the actual problem, then maybe we might one day have sensible conversations about guns. Instead of immediately blaming the tool and immediately asserting that we need to take away peoples constitutionally reaffirmed rights. Sadly that conversation probably will never take place, because far-left radical socialists control you and not let you have any freedom instead.
The Democrats have been trying to push gun control laws through the Senate since they have the majority but just barely, the filibuster is in place, and people like Joe manchin and the Arizona senator both feel like keeping the government honest oh, because they chose not to remove the filibuster. So with both gun control bills dead in the water there's trying to get David Shipman someone Giffords the biggest opponent of gun rights in America appointed to the Head director of the ATF. I don't see how people so blissfully ignorant of the fact that he left wants to control people not stop crying if they wanted to stop crime it would have cracked down on the least crazy asses rioting in the country. Or maybe trying to stop with the defund the police then because if you notice cities that have you funded the police or reduce the prices are now having a really tough time struggling I don't know why but I think I see a connection there

Criminals don't care how many laws you pass. They are already breaking the law. They don't buy their guns in a gun store. Because they Cannot pass the current background check. But they will still get guns and use guns that they get with their bag of dope on the street supplied by the cartels. No matter how many laws they pass it will not stop the gun violence. Since most of the gun violence is committed by street gangs who are already criminals and don't buy their guns in a gun store they can't. But this is not about stopping gun violence. This is about Government control over you. Look at the Capitol, Troops, Fences, barbwire. What does this tell you? You cannot control and be tyrannical over and armed population. The government knows this. This is why they want your guns. They are just using the occasional nut job as and excuse to do it. The Government behind closed doors wants to implement polices that will be very unpopular with the majority of the population. Marxist boarding on communist in nature. But are very afraid of it causing an armed revolution or civil war. So they want to take your guns. Thus, all the troops, fences and barware, around the capital that have not come down since Biden was put in to office. And they said at the time it was temporary. This has all been planned. And any fool with half a brain can see it.
