Tens of thousands of protesters have rallied across the US to call for stricter gun laws in the wake of two mass shootings.

The group behind the rallies, March For Our Lives, said it would not let politicians “sit back” as people continue to die.

US President Joe Biden backed the protests, calling on Congress to “pass common sense gun safety legislation”.

Despite this, any attempts to change the law are likely to be blocked by Republicans.

  • This whole media run on lies and propaganda don't believe immediately do research and think

    @sarpath06 March 28, 2024 10:16 am
  • Question I have not heard you ask at these rallies is this: how do you propose that now unarmed police confiscate The Guns of armed felons and criminals who have these guns illegally? Do we go door-to-door breaking down doors and searching every house? If we required all legal non-criminal gun owners to hand in their guns, do you really believe that criminals and illegally owned guns will be handed in as well? And if not, how will this really lower gun violence and crime when the criminals still have the guns and ordinary people have no defense?

  • YOU HAVE TO BE MENTAL IN THE HEAD TO WANT GUN CONTROL .

    @dustylooney9236 March 28, 2024 10:16 am
  • Ar 15s are illegal as it's, has been for decades, military veterans use those, Mexican officers use those, there even being sold in flea market for decades.

  • Love how Americans don't see someone bringing a gun into a school as the problem, but rather the police officers not storming in and having a shootout in a SCHOOL. The US is lost

  • They can rally and scream and yell and protest all they want but apparently you Brits can’t get it through your heads that the Congress cannot write a law that removed an Constitutional Right. I don’t care if million people march it will not change Constitution and this exactly what the 2nd Amendment is. The ONLY WAY the Constitution can be Amended is by 3/4 of the 50 State Governments (38 States) must vote for the change. That means if only 13 States oppose any single change in the Constitution then it remains as is. You see all the sensationalism with same old David Hogg and the “rent a mob” pop up every time there is an incident and they whine and cry about the tragic deaths but they really are just using a terrible event for their political gain.

    There 330 million people in the USA and you don’t take away their Rights under the Constitution in a reactionary protest. 19 people getting killed in an incident is no reason to take rights of 330 million people away.

    You must understand a Right is not granted by the Government. A Right is protected from Government interference. Guns in the USA are intended to be in Civilian hands as a check and deterrent to Tyrannical Government. It is our Constitution snd it matters not if you or anyone else agrees with it or not.

  • Please listen the simple gun issue is the ammo the bullets, because it's the bullets that actually cause harm and death.
    So simple solution is to regulat all ammo very strictly.
    Listen everything today has a "barcode" right but bullets don't, a little preposterous don't you all think limit the sales you must earn points and safe standard rise up a fair scale .
    Come on guys you don't need 10,000 rounds to defend the family 5 or 6 after that call the police. So 6 per household reasonable ok .
    For hunters get 8 a day after all you can only eat so much and if you can't shoot straight off to the gun range for you , and please return the bullet casing to prove they where properly use thank you very much . Ministry of Ammo i like the MOA
    Pest control should be train officers and paid as much as they will be shooting many rounds hopefully nothing like regular peace officers. In fact scale them as well most new officers just get trzers and spray
    End some of the police violence.
    Truly protect the public it's thier job right to help. See someone in any need , homelessness is rampant and needs to be solved.
    Where are the so called smart people in the country. Stand up
    Save the country with logic and reason .
    If not history will forever show the Shame of present day leadership, unlike the brave heroes the Founders of the USA.

    The Founding Fathers could never imagine the fire rate of modern weapons, the flint lock pistols and muskets of the day where very slow to reload .
    But I digress make counterfeit ammo so outrageous in penalties as to deter there use.
    Hold the manufacturers liable
    This way everyone gets to keep thier weapons making them happy . Just like I like motorcycling. Ok
    If you have the need to shoot till you hurt. I suggest a licensed gun range or licensed location.
    A sort of bring your gun we supply the ammo deal . easy right and the owners will be very wealth hint Give them the best awards.
    ya some health competition some sport .
    In my youth I love to play war with paintball guns all protected up . Less leathal and fun , I did not have the energy to shoot a real gun after a day running around . for the lazy arm chair warrior I recommend this video game Hell Let Loose . Stunning graphics as close to war as it gets and nobody really gets shot , but it teaches military cooperation a cohesive force .Has the Department of Justice and Government no control over such a simple solution.
    Yours respectful

  • These people are gradually breeding local terrorists in the name of human rights, and profit from gun sales and political correctness.

    They’re a bunch of hypocrites who tag the middle Eastern terrorists when they kill people but will label their black gunmen or white supremacists.

    A country where their armed forces are not allowed to bear weapons while on home soil but allow mentally deranged citizens to have tens of sophisticated guns.

    @user-ZelmaJ March 28, 2024 10:16 am
  • Tens of thousands vs 300 million and increasing daily gun owners. Idk about that.

    @ryuhadouken2722 March 28, 2024 10:16 am
  • There are not 10’s of thousands. There are 10’s of hundreds. Not many.
    More people are calling their senators reminding them of 1930’s 1940’s Germany. Does anyone remember history? Who protected those kids?
    People are calling their senators reminding them that former and current CIA officers LIED about the source of the Hunter Biden Laptop in order to rig an election, remind them that Biden is compromised and a criminal. People are calling their Senator reminding them that the DOJ/FBI have labeled parents as Domestic Terrorists, that they plans and incited the Governor Whitmer Kidnapping, that they kicked down the doors of journalists. People are calling their senators reminding them that the southern border is wide open, and there is a flood of fentanyl, child sex slaves, cartel members, international terrorists and illegal migrants. And then there are the J6 political prisoners.

    All of this in the US.

    Do you think your freedom is safe? Don’t be fooled. If the US falls, everyone will be a serf under the control of the Woke oligarchy.

    @rue883 March 28, 2024 10:16 am
  • US gun logic.

    Guns Don't Kill People, People Kill People

    same logic

    Nukes don`t kill people, people kill people.

    So let us give people the freedome to buy nukes.

  • 100 million + gun owners…

    500 million firearms…

    Let's see who wins?!?!?!

  • Let idiots die

    @ejune98 March 28, 2024 10:16 am
  • Until people are willing to abandon their right to arm, this thing will keep coming. The best thing you can do is to hire Chinese police to take over the safty of people in America. They use drones and advanced facial AI to track and kill criminals. They dont care about feelings and political correctness. They also dont care about the color. If you commit crime, you're get justice punished.

  • these Ukrainian politicians have stopped liking me. It is not enough for them that our country finds money for them at the expense of its own citizens. Talk of Putin blackmailing the world with hunger by withholding Ukrainian grain has begun. But there is simply no credible evidence that Ukrainian grain is being exported to Russia. But there is information that the Ukrainian military burned the grain that was supposed to be shipped to other countries from the port of Mariupol. So who is the blackmailer and terrorist?

    @JosephSmith-qq9oz March 28, 2024 10:16 am
  • Guns aren't the problem. It's people

    @ShaddyMan March 28, 2024 10:16 am
  • If I wanted to shoot up a school or a Walmart or whatever, if I wanted to use a gun to do it there is no law you can pass, even abolition of the second amendment, that's going to stop me from getting my hands on some. If I can't buy it legally I will buy it off the streets. If the streets have been swept clean somehow (we can't even get illegal drugs off the streets) then I can simply make ghost and zip guns. Swords are also useful too, that's what they use in China whenever they have school massacres (yes China does have school massacres too look it up).

    The problem isn't gun laws, alot of it is American culture. We do not raise our children right, we have bad wealth inequality that causes poverty which leads to violence including firearms, we treat each other like adversaries we need to be afraid of, etc. Most people are raise in single parent homes instead of a proper nuclear family, our music is filled with hate and killings (look up any rap song you'll see what I mean), video games and action movies glorify a violent masculinity and being the tough guy that scores with women and anything less is loserdom.

    We've had the 2nd amendment since the bill of rights in the 18th century but we only recently started having problems with these kind of massacres starting with Columbine. All we've ever done in response to this is blame the gun or the access to guns. I hate to break it to yall here but taking guns away won't stop criminals from getting guns or finding other way to murder. Does anyone remember the guy who ran over and killed 10 people in Toronto because he got no poon?

    Yes, other countries have fewer gun related deaths. That has more to do with their culture than with gun laws. Sweden doesn't have the Bloods and the Crips for example.

    Also some countries like Mexico have extremely restrictive gun laws yet they have more gun violence than we do. Why? Why doesn't anyone notice the countries with worst gun violence and restrictive gun laws? Cherry picking much?

    Our motto shouldn't be "land of the free" it should be "Get off my property!"

  • Why are these people not marching for better school security? How does anyone walk onto a school campus with a long gun unnoticed? A side door was left unsecured. The shooter walked thru the door unchallenged.

    The shooter strolled from room to room shooting kids like fish in a barrel. The only recourse for the teachers and students was to throw books and book bags at the shooter.

    We have pepper sprays in our national parks that will disable grizzly bears, but our teachers and coaches are not armed or trained in the use of pepper sprays, tasers, or stun guns.

    In my state, our max security prisons have high security fences, gated entry points, and a push button at the entry gates and hallways that sounds an alarm, automatically closes all external and internal doors, and notifies security personnel of danger. Why do we spend more money on prison security than our school security? Are criminals more precious than our children? Secure our schools first, then we can address gun control.

    @barbwire7449 March 28, 2024 10:16 am
  • Chicago Illinois has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation here in the US but yet they have some of the highest murder rates in the country what does that prove it proves that no matter what law or regulation is in place criminals will find a way to commit crimes

    @raymondsalazar5291 March 28, 2024 10:16 am
  • None of these controls would have stopped the shooter.
    Taking away law abiding Americans rights to achieve nothing.
    If gun grabbers cared they would talk about democrat controlled cities snd the endless gun violence.
