That poll they ran shows the problem. It's NOT a choice between "protecting gun rights" and "banning certain weapons." Banning military-style assault weapons doesn't significantly impeded gun rights. The media is such a big problem in this country.

Here's some funny things bout this crap from the media: battle riffles are more "designed" to wound then to KILL.. In war it is better to wound a soldier then to kill'em, as then it takes other fighters to get that soldier out of harms way, and to medical treatment.. However sport hunting riffles shoot way way more powerful rounds, with bugger bullets that cause more way way more damage… So what they call weapon of war (which are not but rather guns that LOOK like other weapons of war) are far less powerful, and capable of killing then sporting, and hunting rifles.. Tell ya, I'd much rather get hit with an AK47, then a 308, or a 30/6… But they don't care, they just want to ban guns one little step at a time, and truth doesn't have any place in their agenda….

The reason why people are lining up at the gun shops and shooting ranges is because people have the natural instinct for self preservation. It only seems fitting to cary a weapon that would even the odds in a confrontation where a bad guy has a gun. Why is it so taboo to loosen laws that would permit law abiding and well trained citizens to cary guns? I recommend people start taking necessary firearms training and arm themselves. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Same reason why many people have fire extinguishers in their houses and vehicles.
