A demonstration in St. Louis led to a heart-pounding scene outside the home of one of the mayor’s neighbors. A man and woman pointed a pistol and what appears to be an assault rifle at the crowd Sunday. The couple was confronting hundreds of protesters who passed through their gated community to urge Mayor Lyda Krewson to resign.

In some states, like Texas, you would be SHOT, by the homeowner, for trespassing, and it would be LEGALLY justified. Whether the gate was open, closed, broken (the gate was broken FYI), ECT.
You're entering someone's property without their permission. That's called trespassing and
TRESPASSING IS A CRIME.
The fact that people are advocating this as perfectly acceptable behavior is disturbing and disgusting.

You can protest in public places but not on private property….Not sure what the mayors house is considered but you can't just trespass on to private property with a gate. I would have lured a few protestors into my house so I could teach them a lesson about trespassing on private property.
The spirit of the protests are a just and noble one, but this event has proven that the enactors and instigators of the social insurrection have no regard to the rule of law and should be justly condemned, they are trespassing and threatening this neighborhood and its denizens and the homeowners were right to defend their life and property from an unhinged mob of armed hoodlums, within the confines of the law.
