I heard something the other day that makes perfect sense to me. All these idiots want to ban firearms from law abiding U.S. citizens. Ask yourself this…..when have you ever heard of a Texas Roadhouse, Logan's, Outback or any other "steakhouse" in America being robbed or shot up by a nutcase? Every person in the place is armed with a sharp knife and nobody is that dumb to think they will be allowed to get out of there unharmed and be lucky if they aren't mobbed and killed. Makes perfect sense to me…."FEAR" keeps people honest and strength is in numbers!

Discussions on gun laws are pointless when local network and cable television programs like NYPD Blue on ABC, the Entertainment channel Lifetime, True Crime Network, Netflix, Showtime, and the plethora of other well known television programs including daily news channels glorify guns, sex, drugs, and other inappropriate behaviors.
Perhaps concerns should start with what is being allowed to be shown on television, and movie screens across America, to include social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube and its parent company Google.
Then there’s the illegal gun markets. This in addition to the Aug. 24, 1999 CBS News report on documents in its possession revealing that over a two-year period, San Francisco police sold or traded over 100 of their assault weapons, including AR-15s and Uzis. Start with re-examining this information.
Then examine the events that led to and resulted in the American War for Independence and how those events may have influenced and developed a right of the people to keep and bear arms.
Seems to me that starting discussions with the obvious problems makes more sense than beginning discussions with contemplating solutions.
Truth be told… it’s believed that government has no sincere interests in enacting gun laws to protect the people. Here we are several years later still talking about gun control. Politicians discussing what the people want to hear with no true plan of action.

Governments through fear mongering tactics, want laws that give more power to the military and remove guns from all people (the general public), thereby enabling more control to a few over the majority.

Luckily, this has already be explained in the “Militia Act” passed by Congress and upheld by several court decisions. It’s even still found in Federal(United States Code) Law . But, we’ll get to that in a minute.
What about the attitude of the people of that day? We could look at a few direct quotes regarding the 2nd Amendment around the time it was written.

The 2nd Amendment clearly states the purpose of the 2nd Amendment. And, that is; to secure a free State. Not duck hunting.

The 2nd Amendment can be broken up grammatically into 2 distinct clauses.
“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
US Code defines who the Militia is: ANY US citizen belongs to a group defined by CURRENT FEDERAL LAW as the “Unorganized Militia.” Or also known as the “Reserve Militia.” SCOTUS D.C. v. Heller determined every US resident has the right to a firearm for defense.

(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and

Remember, the American Revolution literally began over the British attempting to disarm the American Colonies.
This is the entire reason the 2nd Amendment was added to the Constitution by our forefathers. It’s not about duck hunting, or target shooting; it’s about the people being the LAST check and balance against a tyrannical government. Think our forefathers weren’t concerned about their government eventually turning tyrannical?

Im never going to understand why America dosent already have this done when the ability to enact them is right in front of them…legally and even using the very words of the ammendment itself. It states the right to bear arms right? Every American already bears arms, most typically two of them. So you wont be infringing on that right at all….it dosent say guns right? It says arms…which defined means anything used as a weapon. Where does everyone get this idea of guns being the only kind of arms?

So if honest people who would like to own a gun but is not allowed and obeys the law.
